Heidi Bucher (*1926 Winterthur, † 1993 Brunnen, Switzerland) is probably one of the most important and at the same time most unknown artists of the international neo-avant-garde, whose multifaceted work combines the art of the modern era with that of our present day.

Heidi Bucher stands for a radical concept of sculpture that impressively takes into account the fleeting, the processual, the fluid and the organic, as well as the conflict between the dualistic principles of materiality and immateriality. In her works, she forced the reversal of the exterior and the interior, thereby placing the human psyche at the centre and dedicating herself decisively to the question of existence in the context of nature, religion and politics.
